Bud graduated from Yale University in 1958. In June 2008, many of his old friends and some new ones gathered for a grand celebration. We visited all the old places (new to me, of course), and danced the night away. I got to sing with the Yale Alumni Glee Club at Woolsey Hall - so out of my league but so in my element! See all the pictures on the link!

Spring has Sprung

Michigan can be beautiful in the spring! The bulbs have arrived - here are millions of "Glory of the Snow" a beautiful blue spring bulb that we see 15 miles into our daily ride. 75 degrees today, cycled 123 miles so far this week. We really want to have 1000 club miles in by May 1. So far we have 813. That means we need 187 more in 12 days. Think we can make it?

Cycling

Yeah! Some hills to ride in Florida! Yes there are hills there! Three 17% ones on the same road-one right after the other. Mt. Dora is a bicycle friendly city that holds an annual bike festival. They publish maps that are available to anyone year around. The maps are supplemented by cue sheets-turn by turn instructions. Sometimes they even paint turn marks called "Dan Henry's" on the road-especially helpful in the rain. Great fun to ride new roads, new hills and find new friends!

Going home
Four fabulous months in Key Largo, missed the worst winter ever in snowy Michigan-does not break my heart. Leaving Monday to drive back. Going slow, won't be home until April 8. Spending some time in Mt. Dora, FL to ride some hills. Yes there are good hills to ride in the middle of Florida. We have ridden most days here, usually 22 miles a day but it is so flat. We head off to California in May, doing one hill with 6000 ft of climbing. So we need to train on some hills! Then off to Tiger, GA to visit with Bill and Leckie Stack at their lovely winery. Yes, we would love them even if they didn't own a winery!
